Findings of recent studies comparing federal workers' and private-sector workers' compensation should not be considered in isolation, says the Government Accountability Office in a report (.pdf). These studies' conclusions vary significantly because the different approaches and methodologies fail to provide a complete view of the compensation picture, say report authors.
The White House is urging agencies to use a new Do Not Pay tool to prevent improper payments. Agencies must develop a plan for conducting pre-payment eligibility reviews using Do Not Pay and submit a draft plan to OMB by June 30.
